Welcome to my brand new shiny website! I’m so excited to finally be able to share my work with you all on this platform and keep you all updated with what I’m up to and the progress of my wee business.
I’m kicking off my first ever blog with the gorgeous little Ava’s Cake Smash Shoot!
Ava’s Mum contacted me a few weeks before her little girls birthday to book in for a cake smash to mark the occasion. After a short chat, we settled on a rose gold and pink colour scheme for the session and I got to work planning how it was all going to look. Once I got the decor organised I then got in touch with my cake maker, the amazing Rachael at All That Glitters Cakes, to discuss my ideas for the cake and as always she delivered exactly what I had in mind!
On the day of the shoot Ava was a little reserved at the beginning, giving me some very serious looks, but within 10 minutes she settled in, just like they all do! When the cake was put down in front of her, she wasn’t in the least bit interested in tasting it. Even with some encouragement from myself and her Mummy, she was adamant she wasn’t eating it – she has more willpower than me when it comes to cake that’s for sure!
So out came the wooden spoon! And although she still didn’t want to taste the delicious cake in front of her, she thoroughly enjoyed giving it a good bash and in doing so, gave me some gorgeous smiles and cheeky faces which resulted in beautiful final images that Mum totally loved!
A big shout out and thank you to Heather from Heather Longwell Films for all her hard work & amazing creativity in making a wee behind the scenes of the studio and Ava’s cake smash to give you all an insight into what goes on during a shoot. If you’re on the fence about having a cake smash shoot for your wee one, then give this a watch and I’m sure you’ll be convinced otherwise!
Thanks for stopping by and keep your eyes peeled for my next blog!
